‘Gucci Watch Jewellery Music Fund’ Discovers and Trains Chinese Young Music Talents
Gucci Watch Jewellery and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (C.S.C.L.F.) is pleased to announce the establishment of the ‘China Soong Ching Ling Foundation-Gucci Watch Jewellery Music Fund’, which aims to discover and train young Chinese talents including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The fund will provide scholarships for young music talents within the framework of an international music exchange program, which will also receive the full support of GRAMMY® and The Recording Academy®. Young music talents will be selected from the most prestigious music institutions, including the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and the Xian Conservatory of Music. These young performing talents were selected from various disciplines including conductor, performance, singing and composition.
Gucci is committed to supporting art, especially music. Gucci’s dedication to art can be seen through long-term support for the ‘Cinema Foundation’, a non-profit foundation founded by Martin Scorsese to collect and inherit landmark films. In 2010, Gucci Watch and Jewellery signed a cooperation agreement with the world-renowned Grammy Awards organizer, the American Recording Academy, showing Gucci’s strong support for music. Gucci–GRAMMY intends to support the GRAMMY Museum® project, which is committed to preserving historic moments and records of global music heritage.
In commemoration of three years of cooperation and at the time of the 55th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, Gucci Watch Jewellery is proud to add new products to the GRAMMY series. This watch is based on Interlocking G, which is a modern and beautiful interpretation of Gucci’s double G decorative pattern; stainless steel case, 42 mm diameter, quartz movement, sapphire crystal glass.
The eye-catching black leather strap wraps around the wrist, adding a sense of urban charm and becoming a distinctive highlight of this special model. The strap bears the Gucci logo and the pinnacle of the American Academy of Records, a gramophone pattern. The back of the case is also engraved with the Gucci GRAMMY logo.
Interlocking Gucci GRAMMY watches are available in two styles: one with a brushed stainless steel case with a black surface, and the other with a PVD black case with a dark yellow surface. The design maintains a minimalist and abstract style, showing only the ‘Gucci’ logo and a very unique ring pattern, which reminds people of the grooves on the plastic record.
In several new cooperation projects between the two parties in 2013, Gucci Watch Jewellery will support the GRAMMY Camp®. This is an event for young music students around the world. The main task is to train these talented young people.
This summer camp will open in New York and Los Angeles in the summer of 2013. Gucci Watch Jewelry will select 10 talented young musicians to participate. During the summer camp, students will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, write new musical compositions, visit recording studios and performance venues, and participate in a series of workshops. Finally, they will perform in a concert, bringing the summer camp activities to a climax, while celebrating the successful conclusion of the entire event.
Music has been and will continue to be an important part of Gucci’s classic heritage, and this initiative is in line with Gucci’s broader commitments in art preservation and other cultural sponsorships, such as various scholarships for young people in the fields of film and music plan.
The Music Fund’s partnership with Grammy through Gucci Watch Jewellery will be supported by the Recording Academy of America. The best students selected from the ‘Gucci Watch Jewellery Music Fund’ will be students of the American Grammy course. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in the Grammy Summer Camps in New York and Los Angeles, as well as a series of international friendly cultural exchange activities such as the Grammy Museum.
